Last weekend, Muslim students from across the country came together for a powerful seminar by the Initiative on Islam and Medicine, hosted at the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT).
At the heart of the Exploring Bioscience and Islam curriculum is a bold vision: to equip students with the tools to approach bioscience through a wahy-centered worldview — one that sees revelation as a valid and essential source of knowledge, alongside rational and empirical inquiry.
Together, we wrestled with five timeless questions:
What is the origin of humankind?
What is our essential nature?
What is our future?
Are our actions predetermined?
Are we unique in the universe?
This seminar not only deepened our conceptual understanding at the intersection of science and theology, it also fostered friendships, reflection, and a growing sense of community.
